Puerto Peñasco, get your spoons ready! The 2nd Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser is simmering on the horizon for Saturday, November 29th, 2025, and it's more than just flavor. It's a powerful blend of community, culinary talent, and compassion in every bowl. Take a look at last year's event below!



The Challenge is On: Only 12 Chefs Will Be Chosen

Are you a professional chef with a secret weapon simmering on your stove? This is your chance to shine in front of the community, build your brand, and fight hunger one ladle at a time.

But be warned, only 12 elite chefs will be selected for this high-stakes, flavor-filled cookoff. The deadline to enter is September 1st, 2025.

📸 If selected, your photo, logo, and soup name will be featured in the event's promo campaigns.

Last year’s event served more than just soup, it served hope. With proceeds going directly to support local families facing hunger in Puerto Peñasco, every sample and every smile made an impact.

This year, the stakes are even higher. Chefs won’t just be competing for bragging rights, they’ll be stirring up real change. From cherished family recipes like traditional pozole to bold creations like caldo de queso, the Empty Bowls Fundraiser is a celebration of culinary innovation and community compassion.

📅 Date: Saturday, November 29th, 2025

⏰ Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

🎯 Purpose: Raise funds to fight hunger in the Puerto Peñasco community


For the Competitors: What You Need to Know

  • Must prepare at least 4 gallons (15L) of soup

  • Bring own warmers and ladles

  • Soup must be kept at a safe 140°F/60°C

  • One table and chair provided

  • Judges’ bowls and sample containers provided

  • Restaurant promotional materials encouraged

  • Setup time: 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM

  • Service begins: 11:00 AM sharp

Only 12 competitors will make the cut. Final selection will be announced September 5th, 2025. Let the ladle wars begin.
